Will sugar make you happy?
I love this video – so well done and so sad at the same time.
Initially I found it hard to get out of that mentality that I was giving my kids a treat by giving them the occasional fizzy drink (and seemed to get more and more regular as they got older) – but diabetes isn’t a treat, being jacked up on sugar and the crash and cravings that follows isn’t a treat.
Annoyingly, I still sometimes have the urge to “treat” my kids. Even though now I know better. But sometimes I don’t want to be the one saying no, again. Seeing things like the above help strengthen my resolve – it’s my job to keep them healthy and safe while I can, end of.
Repeat after me… “If you’re thirsty, there is chilled water in the fridge”

Hey Kyla – hang in there, it definitely gets easier with time. It’s just second nature for me now and doesn’t need any additional thought. Apart from thinking up yummy new recipes of course! ;-)

Hi there
I have just discovered your website – THANK YOU! I am wheat, starc, gluten and now frctose and lactose itolerant (I know right, BIG suck) but your recipes I’ve found so great to adapt to what I can have, and I am feeling a bit more positive now. I’ve discovered Freedom products which I think are paleo based with the grains, and yummie. You’ve made me feel a lot more positive about food options and I really appreciate the great effort you have put into this site.
Big hugs :)

hey Debie – thanks for that! I suspect having those intolerances will turn out to be the best thing for your health in the long term, so it’s great you are embracing the change and feeling positive about it! Hugs back :-)
